Xiaomi Mi Max Teardown: With 6.44-inch large screen+ Stunning battery capacity

On May 10th , Xiaomi officially released its largest-ever screen phone called as Xiaomi Max in Beijing, priced at 1499 yuan. In the first round of the flash sale, Xiaomi Mi Max sold out in a minute, which shows the popularity of Xiaomi Mi Max. According to Xiaomi Max’s disassembly diagram, let us look at what’s inside the device.

It can be seen from the teardown of the device, Xiaomi Max shell adopts a relatively mature three-stage design, the upper and lower ends of the shell uses the polycarbonate material, the middle is made of metal material, it can hold 4850mAh battery, the reason is that Xiaomi uses 3.85V high-voltage battery, effectively ensuring the capacity and the power.

In addition, it is worth mentioning that Xiaomi Mi Max posted a graphite stickers and silicone grease on the processor, effectively promote the heat dissipation, it is also equipped with Snapdragon 652 processor, as one of this year’s popular SoC, I believe that the battery life will be very good.

Xiaomi Mi Max Teardown:

First of all, in appearance, it uses a 6.44-inch screen, and with 2.5D glass+ metal fuselage design, the back of the fuselage is a three-stage design, the middle is made of metal material, the upper and lower ends is the polycarbonate material, which is also an important signal overflow channel. Given that the screen size is larger, the fingerprint recognition module is placed at the back of the fuselage, in daily use, we can naturally touch fingerprint area to carry out the related operations.

In the side of fuselage, Xiaomi Max pays attention to the waistline design, and in the bezel edge of fuselage, using a chamfered edge design, making the thickness of the overall phone get thin, to some extent, ensuring the hand feeling of the large-screen phone. Now, let us start to disassemble the phone.

In SIM card slot, Xiaomi Mi Max uses a brand-new expansion card slot design, either Micro SIM+ Nano SIM, or SIM card + TF card, and supports up to 128GB storage expansion, in the network connectivity, it supports dual SIM dual standby and entire network.

Xiaomi Max metal back cover and the fuselage are connected by a card buckle, the fingerprint recognition module is placed at the metal back cover, and its flat cable is connected to the motherboard.

Xiaomi Max internal still uses the most common three-stage design, the main chip concentrated in the top of the motherboard.

Xiaomi Max teardown has been completed a half, if we continue to disassemble the phone, it will lose the warranty, this is to say, if just replace the fingerprint recognition module, it will not affect the warranty.

The top of the motherboard adopts the metal injection protective shield, the upward side of each flat cable connection is covered with metal plate, can carry out the heat insulation, moreover, the above injection part can also received signal very well.

At the bottom of the fuselage, it is equipped with unibody sound chamber, can further promote the user experience when watching video.

At the bottom of the fuselage, it is equipped with antenna signal spillway, microphone and Micro USB data cable/charging port. Maybe considering the cost, this time, Xiaomi Max does not use Type-C port.

The main chip concentrated in the top of the motherboard, due to using Qualcomm Snapdragon652 platform, high integrated, Xiaomi Max motherboard part looks very simple. In addition, we also notice a red sign as shown in the image, which should be reserved for the NFC chip.

This time, Xiaomi Max’s large-capacity battery will be a big highlight. The battery was fixed by two Tara gum, which also brings convenience for the subsequent maintenance and replacement.

Xiaomi Max comes with a BM49 battery, and the battery uses 3.85V high voltage, this is why Xiaomi Max can hold a 4850mAh large battery.

On the front of the motherboard, we can see the CPU position, Xiaomi Max adopts graphite stickers and silicone grease to carry out a simple heat dissipation.

Our tested Xiaomi Max is Snapdragon652 version, CPU and memory are packaged, thus we can only see upper memory chip. Compared to Snapdragon650 chip, Snapdragon652 not only adds two A72 core, but also supports Qualcomm latest fast charging QC3.0.

As we already know, Xiaomi Max is a high cost-performance phone, it is equipped with a 6.44-inch screen, a large-capacity battery, and Qualcomm Snapdragon652 processor, priced at 1499 yuan only. Maybe considering its low cost, Xiaomi Max also made some concessions, through the teardown, we can find that Xiaomi Max does not use some mainstream features, such as NFC, Fast charging charger, Type-C port, etc. But as a mid-range smartphone, Xiaomi Max is still quite competitive.
